How To Break In
You have the drive, and the knowledge to be in fashion design; but how do you break into the business? How do you make a career in fashion design for yourself? If you have spent countless hours looking through the magazines, and have notebooks full of drawings, the next step would be to find a fashion design school. Here you would learn all the basics of the fashion design industry. You can either attend a fashion design school in person or find one online and study at home. In either case you will learn how to make the most out of your basic talent and creativity.

While in school try to set up internships and gather up a portfolio of your work. This will help you get into your first job. Fashion design, like any other business requires that you start at the bottom. You will probably become part of a team, or an apprentice or assistant to another fashion designer. This is where you learn as much about the business as possible. After getting the initial ‘foot in the door’, making the most of your fashion design career will be up to how much passion and effort you are willing to put into it.

The Job Of A Merchandiser
A merchandiser is involved in every stage of the process. Fashion design and merchandising are connected from design to sales. The merchandisers advise the designer on market trends, get all specifications from the project buyers, get samples approved and negotiate the price of the final sale. They are also responsible for making sure that consignments are delivered to the customers according to schedule. In the world of fashion design and merchandising it is the merchandisers who will usually have bottom-line responsibility for all projects or departments during the various levels of their careers. Most work in fashion design and merchandising involves juggling past, present, and future work. Merchandisers spend a great deal of time evaluating sales from previous time periods in order to properly plan and decide goals for future sales. In fashion design and merchandising, it isn’t just about shopping; with fashion design and merchandising the merchandisers must be able to analyze and create a complex business plan aimed at specific buying habits and customers. Trend For The Upcoming Fall / Winter In Women Fashion Clothing
Women fashion clothing is something that is always changing, and this year is no exception. Styles are moving away from the completely feminine look of recent seasons. Styles of this winter will incorporate a more masculine and rugged look with different textures and a more somber palette. These apposing combinations will play against each other and manipulate shapes. This new look is dramatic and sometimes shocking but while it will look to move forward, there will still be elements of the past.

One major element of women fashion clothing for this winter will be layering using fine tops and hosiery. Thicker, opaque textured tights will be very strong with layered looks dominating fashion. Moving to the torso there are minor changes to the silhouette in the shoulder area that looks to capture some of the style from the late nineties. This look draws inspiration from the ethnic styles of this period and will play on the feminine gypsy look with a dash of feminized military tom boy thrown in.

The important thing to remember is layer, layer, and layer. Sweaters, scarves and all manner of accessories will be in high fashion for this cold season so be sure to try to work in as many as you can. You can accentuate these layers with a large bag from any of the major designers – Coach, Louis, etc. These bags continue to stay strong in an ever changing fashion arena. As for shoes just about any will be able to fit in with the style of the winter, but tall large boots will fit particularly well. As you can see this style really has a North East US influence so look to that area for inspiration.

He started as a humble draper but eventually established a fashion house in Paris. The thing that separated Worth from the simple seamstresses who came before him was that instead of his clients dictating to him what they wanted, he would dictate to them what to wear. The word couturier was created in order to best describe him. Also during this time sketch artists were hired to diagram the dresses and clothes so that the clients could pick and choose which garments they liked. This was far less costly than having to make the garments each individually and risk the client not liking it.

This trend continued to grow and expand throughout France and Europe. London was the next destination for high fashion and magazines began cropping up detailing the prevailing style. Department stores would send people to the Paris shows where they could purchase garments to copy and sell in their stores. Still at this time fashioned had not advanced to the two distinct styles of haute couture and ready to wear. For the most part the fashion design clothing manufacturer performed both duties as the need arose. It was not until after World War Two that these roles became sharply split.

Culture began to see two sides in the clothing industry, clothes for the everyday person then the high fashion of the runway. Most designers began to specifically design for one of the other with very little co mingling of the styles. Today it is much different as many couture items now find there way into department stores across the world.

As you can see the role of the designer has changed since Worth’s day, but for the most part the ideals of job remain the same. If you think that you have these same ideals then perhaps a career in design is something for you.

This can be a great experience for you and your daughter, a true bonding experience. By letting her take the lead and pick the clothes she wants you are helping her to grow up and move into becoming a grown woman.

As you can see getting clothes for your teen age daughter is complicated. My two suggestions for making this experience easy and fun are to one – get your daughter something that she can use in multiple outfits that is not just one single thing. Two – take her with you to do the shopping so you can share in the fun.

For the west coast, nothing will be better than Beverly Hills. If you are in Asia, Tokyo is the place to go.

I would never consider myself to be a high fashion expert, but I do have an opinion on my clothes. Men fashion clothing in my mind needs to have three things – style, comfort, and solid construction. The one men fashion clothing that I have found that consistently has those three things are the clothes from Ralph Lauren.

Polo Ralph Lauren – Men Fashion Clothing For Everyman
The one thing that really stands out to me about Polo’s line of clothes is how diverse their collection is. When I am looking for men fashion clothing is that I want a designer who can make cloths for whatever occasion. I must admit that I really do no enjoy thinking about clothes or any kind of fashion for that matter, and Ralph Lauren has made it easy for me to find clothes I can wear. From sports jackets to underwear if you can not find it in the Polo collection you are not looking in the right spot.

Another great thing about Ralph Lauren is how easy it is to find. Sometimes men fashion clothing can be difficult to shop for, but if you near a mall you can find Polo clothes. I am actually very lucky in that there is a Polo outlet within a short distance from my house so I go there to get everything I need. The prices are far more reasonable than what you will find in most department stores. Better than the price is the selection. Only at an outlet store can you find everything that Polo makes.

I am a huge sports fan and the recent line of Olympic themed clothes from Polo are a hit for me. Once every four years I go nuts for the Olympics, and with this line of clothes I can show my appreciation and do it in style. I was able to pick up an extra large Olympic Games hoodie at my local outlet store for a good price. This classic fitting hoodie sweatshirt in heavy prima cotton features the official Team USA logo for the 2008 Olympics. The best thing is that it goes with everything else I own, is super comfortable, and will be a keepsake for years to come.

As you can see I really think Polo has the best men fashion clothing you can buy for a number of reasons. First off they stick to my big three, and second they have a lot of clothes to choose from. I, like most guys, want my shopping to be a simple as possible and Ralph Lauren has made it easy for me.
